Make-up: When Less is More

Hey there,
It’s me, the complainer/change maker, again…Yayyyyy, you will say (hopefully).
So, today I want to share with you something that really distracts everybody, which is “too much make-up”.
To start with, I will explain what I mean when I say “wearing too much make-up”. It includes simultaneously emphasizing both eyes and lips, having dark smokey eyes during the day, an eyeliner that looks like a really, really dark eyeshadow, or why not even having foundation or powder that’s couple of shades darker or lighter than your natural skin color.
As you walk down the streets of Yerevan, you will see many women and girls with excessive make-up. Why do they do this?

Lampochka bijouterie

People always ask me how I manage to have so many beautiful and unique earrings that no one else has. I always smile and say the word “Lampochka” on facebook. So I decided to reveal the secret of Lampochka (light bulb) in our blog.
Lampochka is a facebook group where handmade bijouterie is created and posted. What is amazing about that bijouterie is that they all are unique and in a single exemplar. By ordering your preferred earrings you can always be sure that no one on the earth owns exactly the same earnings that you own.

Rima Kazumyan at Emporio Armani

Guys, I’ve got something shocking to tell you. Are you ready????
Nooooo you should really be ready for this.
Emporio Armani is an Armenian. Don’t believe in it?

Well you’re right, Emporio Armani himself is not an Armenian
but Armani brand’s future is in an Armenian girl’s hands.

Blackomania or Subculture Within a Culture?

I was always thinking why many of Armenian men like to wear black clothes: black jacket, black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black socks (hopefully not red socks). They wear black all the time, wherever they go, whatever they do.

Why are they buying only black? Isn’t any other color out there? Don't get me wrong, a man wearing black suggests elegance, authority and power. But when I see groups of people in black who are not going to a funeral, there is something suspicious in it, isn’t it?

Refuse to be SAD

Hey, all J
As winter is coming along, I noticed (and surely you did too) that the colors all around the city are getting darker and duller. Girls, guys, men and women slip into their fall/winter clothes, mainly dark colors, brown, black, and grey. Why is this?

Researching and asking friends and relatives of their opinion on this issue, I came along with the term “Season Affective Disorder”. SAD comes along in mid fall, lasts all winter long, and gradually goes away in spring. Without getting into much detail, I will only add that the symptoms for SAD are stress and depression, increased need for sleep, lack of energy, and constant craving for snacks and sweets. Sadly, all of these are usually accompanied by weight gain.

Armenian Party Dresses

Ok, girls, now you’re invited to a wedding or engagement party or the “Last Bell” party?
The first problem, OMG I’ve got nothing to wear. And the terrible cloth searching times begin.
Sounds familiar?

First steps: visiting Tashir, Hayastan, Rossia, learning by heart all the boutiques of Abovyan street, feeling tired, feeling depressed, calling all your friends and being informed that they’ve faced/are facing/will face the same problem, writing a status on facebook, reading complaints and advices to order a dress in an atelier, realizing there’s no time for the order, searching google, online clothing websites and finding plenty of beautiful dresses, again feeling depressed….

Have you just experienced the feeling of a "Déjà vu"? Then continue reading this article. :)
