Summarily summary to summer

 …And again overcrowded streets, short skirts, high heels, white trousers, long walks and laughter everywhere… Ring the bells! It’s summertime!!!
Who likes summer holidays, say “Me". I expect everybody does, especially if you go to sea. 

You pick up all your summer dresses, buy new stylish bikinis and rush to the sea of joy striving for sun, water and, of course, a tan… Sounds amazing, but be careful: the combination of sun, water and wind doesn’t always bring to a bronze or chocolate tan, especially if your skin is too white. 


My sad experience of getting tan allows me to give some worthy advices to everyone, who is going to sea this summer or actually whenever:
Advice 1: pick with you all possible sun block lotions, sprays or gels that you have and use them on the first days especially. This will help your body to get used to sun rays. 
Advice 2: bathe in the sun before 12PM and after 5PM in order not to get UV-rays of sun.

Bandeau

Advice 3: a very convenient swimwear for getting tan is bandeau with removable straps. (see the picture) Girls, this is what you need, believe me! 
Advice 4: after sunbathe don’t forget to use after tan lotion or moisturizer to save your wonderful tan and not get burned.
Advice 5: if it happens, unfortunately, that you get burned but no doctor interference is needed it is recommended to have a special drug for such cases. It will help you to sleep well at night.
Advice 6: have a friend or family member near you who will help you in every situation. 


Well, if you have something to add, please do it as soon as possible. 
And one more thing: have fun, enjoy life, laugh a lot and be happy to get as much energy as possible for the upcoming fall.

Make-up: When Less is More

It’s me, the complainer/change maker, again…Yayyyyy, you will say (hopefully). 
So, today I want to share with you something that really distracts everybody, which is “too much make-up”. 
To start with, I will explain what I mean when I say “wearing too much make-up”. It includes simultaneously emphasizing both eyes and lips, having dark smokey eyes during the day, an eyeliner that looks like a really, really dark eyeshadow, or why not even having foundation or powder that’s couple of shades darker or lighter than your natural skin color.
As you walk down the streets of Yerevan, you will see many women and girls with excessive make-up. Why do they do this?

Blackomania or Subculture Within a Culture?

I was always thinking why many of Armenian men like to wear black clothes: black jacket, black shirt, black pants, black shoes, black socks (hopefully not red socks). They wear black all the time, wherever they go, whatever they do. 

Why are they buying only black? Isn’t any other color out there? Don't get me wrong, a man wearing black suggests elegance, authority and power. But when I see groups of people in black who are not going to a funeral, there is something suspicious in it, isn’t it? 

Refuse to be SAD

As winter is coming along, I noticed (and surely you did too) that the colors all around the city are getting darker and duller. Girls, guys, men and women slip into their fall/winter clothes, mainly dark colors, brown, black, and grey. Why is this?

            Researching and asking friends and relatives of their opinion on this issue, I came along with the term “Season Affective Disorder”. SAD comes along in mid fall, lasts all winter long, and gradually goes away in spring. Without getting into much detail, I will only add that the symptoms for SAD are stress and depression, increased need for sleep, lack of energy, and constant craving for snacks and sweets. Sadly, all of these are usually accompanied by weight gain.
